Digging DNS was created by Chad Los Schumacher. With over a decade of experience in domain name investigations and several years immersed in the DNS industry, Chad built this platform to demystify complex internet infrastructure and make domain research accessible to everyone.

At its core, Digging DNS is an educational platform. I maintain a large, freely accessible library of guides, tutorials, and registry contacts. Whether you are learning how to read raw DNS records, navigate registry abuse policies, or take down malicious infrastructure, this site serves as the comprehensive documentation that didn't exist when I started in the field.

I understand the privacy requirements of security researchers and domain investigators. Search queries run on Digging DNS are never sold, shared with data brokers, or publicly broadcast on activity feeds. Anonymous usage relies on cryptographic IP hashing, and search data processed by our AI tools is strictly excluded from model training datasets.
Platform Sustainability
Educational materials and base daily lookups are always free. High-resource tools—such as live headless browser rendering, proxy unlocking, and AI analysis—incur underlying infrastructure costs. To support these costs without ads, I utilize a flexible pay-as-you-go credit system alongside direct community support.

Digging DNS is operated by Tech Cavalry LLC, a Pennsylvania-based technology company solely owned by Chad Los Schumacher. Operating under a formal legal entity provides the operational footing required to interface with commercial data providers, secure proxy networks, and enterprise APIs—allowing me to deliver reliable tools while maintaining full operational transparency.
